Pursat Attractions

Chrous Phaork Takeo Provine

Pursat Province is Cambodia’s fourth-largest province, located in the western part of the country. It borders Battambang, Tonlé Sap Lake, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, and Thailand.

The province provides easy access to both the Tonlé Sap (just 35 km away) and the Cardamom Mountains to the west. Its name comes from a type of tree native to the region.

Pursat remains off the typical tourist trail, with attractions like the Cardamoms and Tonlé Sap requiring a bit of effort to explore.

The province is mainly accessible via National Highway No. 5 from Phnom Penh (174 km) and Battambang (106 km), while a slow train between Phnom Penh and Battambang also stops just outside Pursat (2 km).
