Preah Rumkel is situated in Thalaborivat District, Stung Treng Province, in Cambodia’s northeastern frontier. From Phnom Penh, travelers can expect an 8–10 hour journey by bus, minibus, or taxi along National Roads 6 and 7 to Stung Treng Town. 

From there, a speedboat ride of about one hour brings visitors to Preah Rumkel. The community eco-tourism area is also accessible via a boat trip that takes roughly an hour from town, with a round trip costing around 50,000 riel (approximately US$12.25).
