Tour Itinerary

Hotel Pickup & Scenic Drive Through Local Villages

Your adventure begins at 8:00 AM when your friendly, English-speaking guide picks you up from your hotel. Enjoy a scenic one-hour drive through rural Cambodian landscapes, passing lively local markets, stilted houses, and rice paddies, en route to the Khleang River.

Life on the Lake – Kampong Khleang by Private Riverboat

Board a private wooden riverboat and enjoy a peaceful cruise toward Kompong Khleang, one of the largest and least-visited communities on Tonlé Sap Lake. As you travel, the scenery changes with the seasons: glide through lush flooded forests in the wet months, or pass colourful farmland and exposed stilt houses during the dry season.

Arriving in Kompong Khleang, you’ll be amazed by enormous stilt homes rising up to 10 meters above the ground. With over 20,000 residents, this lively community adapts to the lake’s dramatic water shifts through fishing, farming, and traditional skills that have sustained generations.

During your visit, stop by a local school (when in session), where you may donate supplies if you wish, and continue to a nearby Buddhist temple with its calm atmosphere and elegant architecture. Throughout the day, you’ll observe how life transforms with the changing seasons, from floating villages during high water to ladders stretching down to the lake during the dry months.

Picnic-Style Lunch at a local’s house

Around midday, enjoy a picnic-style lunch at a local home, giving you the chance to slow down, relax, and experience the peaceful rhythms of rural life. This authentic, home-cooked meal provides insight into local flavors and hospitality.
