Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Angkor Archaeological Park full day tour

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver in the hotel lobby and head to the Angkor Ticket Office to purchase your Angkor Pass. Your day begins at Angkor Wat, one of Southeast Asia’s best-preserved archaeological sites and a true Wonder of the World. Explore its vast complex of intricately carved corridors, towers, and courtyards.

Continue to Angkor Thom, entering through the impressive South Gate lined with statues of gods and demons holding a giant Naga. Visit the Bayon, famed for its serene stone faces, followed by the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

End your morning at Ta Prohm, where massive tree roots dramatically intertwine with the ruins, creating one of Angkor’s most unforgettable sights.

Approximately 5-6 hours

Day 2: Phnom Kulen Waterfall and Banteay Srei Temple

Pick-up is at 8:00 AM, then head to the Kulen National Park ticket booth before driving 50 km northeast to Phnom Kulen Mountain, a sacred sandstone plateau considered the birthplace of the Khmer Empire. Your vehicle will take you up the steep mountain road, offering dramatic views along the way.

At the top, visit the ancient riverbed carvings, then climb the stairs to a hilltop pagoda housing Cambodia’s largest reclining Buddha, carved directly into the rock. Enjoy sweeping countryside views and take a refreshing swim at the waterfall with the locals, don’t forget your swimsuit.

In the afternoon, continue to Banteay Srei, a 10th-century Hindu temple celebrated for its delicate pink sandstone carvings and regarded as a masterpiece of classical Khmer art.

Approximately 6-7 hours

Day 3: Adventure to Beng Melea Temple and Ancient Capital of Koh Ker

Begin your day at 7:00 AM with pick-up from your hotel, then head out on a full-day journey to Beng Mealea and Koh Ker, both set in Cambodia’s peaceful rural hinterlands.

Travel off the beaten path to Beng Mealea, built by King Suryavarman II (1113–1150 AD). Thought to be a prototype for Angkor Wat, this temple has few surviving carvings and is now beautifully overrun by jungle, with collapsed walls and tangled roots adding to its mysterious charm.

Continue to Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire (928–944 AD). Unlike other Cambodian temples, Koh Ker resembles an ancient pyramid, rising dramatically above the forest. Largely untouched and home mostly to birds, the site offers a uniquely tranquil and atmospheric experience.

Enjoy a simple picnic lunch near the temple (at your own expense), then explore more ancient structures in this serene and remote landscape.

Approximately 7-8 hours

Day 4: Kampong Phluk Floating Village

Your guide will pick you up from your Siem Reap hotel for a 45-minute drive into the countryside. Upon arrival at the quay, board a local boat for a 1.5-hour journey toward the Tonle Sap Lake. Along the way, pass through Kampong Phluk, a community of floating homes and stilted houses whose name means “Harbor of the Tusks.”

Observe daily life in this remote village, with its colorful homes, schools, temples, and government buildings. During the rainy season, admire the lush flooded forest surrounding the area.

Continue by boat to the vast expanse of Tonle Sap Lake, while your guide explains its vital role as Cambodia’s most important freshwater resource.
