Prasat Chrab – A Hidden Temple of Koh Ker

Prasat Chrab is one of the more secluded temples within the Koh Ker complex, offering visitors a quiet and atmospheric glimpse into Cambodia’s 10th-century capital. 

Built during the reign of King Jayavarman IV, the temple was constructed mainly from laterite blocks with sandstone elements, typical of the architectural style of the period. 

Unlike the grand pyramid of Prasat Thom or the elephant-guarded Prasat Damrey, Prasat Chrab sits modestly within the forest, its ruined form blending seamlessly with nature.

A Temple Claimed by Time

Though far smaller in scale compared to Koh Ker’s monumental sanctuaries, Prasat Chrab holds a subtle yet profound charm. Centuries of exposure to the elements and the steady advance of the surrounding forest have left much of the structure partially collapsed.
